What is EET? Expanding Expression Tool
https://www.expandingexpression.com/

EET (Expanding Expression Tool) is a supportive multi-sensory language tool that helps target the way students organize language elements. This tool assists students’ in giving more detailed descriptions and definitions of items, helping facilitate an improvement in students’ oral and written expression.

The EET will help target multiple language areas all at once. It can be applied for use when working on expanding general descriptions, writing from prior knowledge, and biographies.

This tool uses three basic styles of learning: auditory, visual and kinesthetic. With taking all learning styles into account; multi-sensory learning experience help reach more students in a more effective manner.

Who can administer EET Therapy?
The EET can be administered by those who are versed in the understanding of use. A speech-language pathologist or communicative disorders assistant who has received training through the EET workshop by Sarah Smith, CCC-SLP would be an asset to learning this incredible tool.

How does it work?
• This hands on approach to expanding language uses practice by doing, and immediate use to help facilitate functional learning. This therefore helps increase the students’ likelihood and ability to transfer this skill it over into other expression tasks.
• Teaches students using a colour coded, hand held beaded tool, to help them be able to provide an Aristotelian definition including superordinate category term plus 5-6 other characteristics.
• When students use the EET, they will automatically include all language elements: group, function, appearance, composition, parts, and location.
• It can be used for both oral and written expression.
• The program can be used with students of any age and a variety of ability levels.

Who could benefit from using the EET?
• Student from Pre-school to High School
• Adults from College and University to preparing presentations in work life environments
• Those working on word finding, discourse organization, and improving oral expression
• Anyone looking to improve their ability to expand expression
